The training 'Leadership for Sustainable Development' taught me that the challenges in the process towards becoming a truly sustainable company is not illustrative for my organization only, though, as well for other, large organizations. Colleagues at other departments faced similar challenges during the accomplishment of the by the top management formulated goals.

The training of 2LEAD4US has been a catalysator in the change from a sceptical towards a proactive and positive attitude that is needed in the sustainable development process. I have learned how to positively contribute in this process within my organization and how to put sustainability, including its dilemmas and challenges, on the agenda to make it discussable. Besides, I am better able to see interests of other's.  

When I started as Management Trainee at ABN AMRO, I was not completely aware of the sustainable role a bank could possibly have, and actually should have in our society. When I applied for a traineeship at ABN AMRO the financial crisis was at its deepest point and I realized that a lot was changing: economically, financially and ethically.

Once I started with my traineeship, I noticed that the core of a bank does not differ much from the average human-being: actively trying to make progressions, avoiding risks as much as possible and, furthermore, acting in their own self-interest without worryin to much about the consequences on the long-term...
